Unit Commissioner Minutes

Twin Arrows Scouters,

My name is Ron Bender. As of October 1, 2006, I have accepted the appointment of District Commissioner.

First, I would like to say thanks each of you for all you for the Scouts in our District and Council. Without the volunteers, those that step up and say “Yes, I’ll help” our boys are the ones that will suffer through a lack of program. Thank you to all Twin Arrows Scouters for all you do to keep the program alive and interesting for our Scouts.

Second, I would like to ask for your help. In order to keep the program alive and moving in the proper direction it is important for everyone to be aware of all that is going on within our District and throughout the Indian Nations Council. To that end, we are asking that all units appoint a Unit Information Coordinator (UIC). This person should be available to attend a short meeting on the first Thursday of each month in order to retrieve all the most up to date program related information available to help you with your unit calendars and program. Several units have already appointed their UIC. To this point, several have yet to identify someone for this important role.

Please follow through with this important initiative and allow us to help with your unit’s program. I, along with our District professionals, will be meeting UIC’s from Cub Scout Packs at 6:00 pm for about 30 minutes. We will be meeting with UIC’s from Boy Scout Troops beginning at 6:30. Both meetings will be held at the Scout Resource Center before the Twin Arrows District Committee Meeting.

I look forward to meeting each of you and working with you as I undertake this position. With all of us working together, we can build the best program ever for the Scouts of the Twin Arrows District.
